I'm Jay, a retail trader based in Scotland, trading under the name Xzoneia. I started in August 2024. Before that I traded crypto manually - buying, holding, selling. I did that and paid for my wedding through Covid. Then I moved into CFDs, which is what I trade now alongside working full time. My main instruments are XAUUSD and BTC, with others I'm always looking into.
I'll be straight with you - I fall into that 90% of traders who lose their money. I lost everything, and I started again. That's the part most people won't tell you.
Along the way I've learned a few hard truths. My biggest enemy is fear - I close trades far too early, then let losers run to stop loss. I'll bank 50 pips and walk away, only to watch the reversal hit my final TP without me. It's something I'm still working on every day.
The other lesson: following other people's advice to the letter doesn't work - at least not for me. They make money, I didn't, because my brain doesn't work like theirs. I had to find my own way - my own TP and SL distances, my own thing to look for. The day I stopped copying and started building my own approach was the day it changed.
And if you take one thing from me: what you see on YouTube might make sense and it's fine for reference, but don't plan your whole strategy around it. Back test everything. Always.
Why I built XZT
Working full time, I found it near impossible to do a job and keep an eye on the charts at the same time. I scanned around, found copiers and other traders, tried them all - and ended up building my own, something that let me trade the way I needed to. I spent 18 months coding and making changes along the way. I nearly gave up. I took a week and never looked at a chart - I needed that break before I lost my mind, as did my family.
Take the walk. Play the game. Have a drink, go for a drive somewhere, and just breathe. The charts will always do what they do. You won't catch everything - this isn't Pokémon, this is life. The cup is never half full; the liquid is just in the wrong size container.
